Donations

Presbyterian Homes Foundation was developed by the Board of Directors to receive charitable gifts, donations and grants to enable us to continue our high standards into the future. Managed by a Board of Trustees, the foundation receives funds and disburses them to Presbyterian Home for Central New York, The Meadows at Middle Settlement, Presbyterian Residential Community and any of the specialized programs and services provided in one of these facilities on campus. The foundation is also charged to sponsor programs in the field of aging, and to develop and expand service to the community by mobilizing and coordinating the efforts of community leaders in the field of aging and development.

High quality care and quality of life are important issues at the Presbyterian Homes campus. The support of our friends and the community is vital in helping us maintain our high standards for residents and the senior community that access our various services. There are many ways in which you can support high quality care for the senior community, but we recommend, that before entering into any planned giving program, you consult your financial advisor and/or attorney.

Donations May Be Made To Help With The Work Of Presbyterian Homes & Services In These Ways:

• Memorial Gifts in honor of special people. All memorial gifts are acknowledged in the Carillon, the Presbyterian Homes quarterly newsletter.
• The Chaplaincy Endowment Fund to insure the future of the pastoral care program.
• A Charitable Gift Annuity provides the donor with immediate or deferred payments guaranteed for life, at a rate based on his or her age at the time of the donation. Following the lifetime of the annuitant(s), a portion of the original annuity remains for the use of Presbyterian Homes Foundation.
• A Revocable Life Income Plan is invested to provide the donor with a fixed income for life. After the lifetime of the donor, the gift may either continue to provide income to named beneficiaries, or may become available to support the work of Presbyterian Home. The terms of this planned gift may be changed
• Bequests through wills name the Presbyterian Homes Foundation as a beneficiary for all or a portion of the donor's estate after the testor dies.
• Life insurance policies may be used to make a gift to Presbyterian Homes Foundation by naming the Foundation as a beneficiary. This method enables a substantial gift to be made at relatively low cost.
