Wellness Center
The Wellness Center, located at Presbyterian
Residential Community, is an exercise facility
especially designed for seniors. The state of the art center is one of the many facilities
offered by Presbyterian Homes and Services and is open to the public.
It is open daily and offers special hours just for seniors. Nominal membership fees apply.

Fitness for Seniors, Fitness for Life
- Compressed air equipment - less impact on joints (than weights)
- Dry sauna to ease pain and stiffness of arthritis
- Seats, seat backs and handles are oversized for comfort and swivel for convenience
- Treadmills, elliptical trainers and recumbent bikes provide cardiovascular exercise

Cardiopulmonary System
Exercise increases the efficiency of the heart and lowers blood pressure. It can also aid in recovery from heart disease.

Exercise controls arthritis symptoms, increases bone density, strengthens muscles and improves flexibility.

Exercise quickens reaction time, improves motor skills, enhances memory, increases balance and improves range of motion.
Psychological and Social Benefits
Exercise eliminates the feeling of losing control associated with aging. It promotes independence, and self confidence, decreases anxiety and depression, and enhances body image.
Personalized Fitness Programs
A personal trainer is available to customize an exercise program that takes into account a senior's individual abilities and goals while ensuring personal safety on all equipment. Additional exercise and educational programs are also offered at the Wellness Center. Current schedules are available on the web site or by contacting the personal trainer.
Hours
The Wellness Center is open to the public seven days a week, 5:00 am - 3:00 pm.
