In 1955 Margaret Mary "Mickey" Bluff graduated as Valedictorian of Annunciation High School in Buffalo, NY. Incredibly shy, Mickey repeatedly fainted while rehearsing her class graduation speech and had to be carried out of the auditorium by a young man who would later become her husband. Mickey’s parents placed a high value on education and were not happy that she chose to go to Nursing School for practical training rather than go to college for a theoretical education. She reasoned that she needed to acquire the hands-on skills first and could consider college later. Mickey had 5 boys between the years of 1961 and 1971. In the mid-seventies, her husband had his first open heart surgery and Mickey was advised that she needed to prepare for a potential future without a husband. So, Mickey went to the University of Buffalo and earned her Bachelors Degree while parenting 5 boys and managing a household. Mickey re-entered the workforce as a nurse at Allied Chemical, earned her Masters Degree in Epidemiology and won a very sought after position as a research nurse at Roswell Park Cancer Institute. Mickey loved her work, enjoyed spending her time with her boys and their growing families, travel and the arts. In 1987 Mickey started to notice some changes. She was stumbling and tripping and taking longer to perform routine tasks and was having trouble accurately measuring medication dosages. Mickey was diagnosed with Parkinsons Disease in early 1988. Never one to complain, Mickey made the most of her days and lived with Parkinson’s for 19 years. The last 8 ½ of those years Mickey was a very loved resident of the Elm Unit at The Presbyterian Home. In July of 2003 Eddie and Brian Bluff started a digital marketing agency designed to help businesses meet the rapidly changing information requirements of their customer base.
